How long has FGI been in business?
FGI was founded in 1981 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, where our headquarters is still located.
Do you only do online research?
No, FGI has a telephone center located in Virginia Beach that is available for consumer and business to business dialing.
We can also handle mail studies, focus groups, in-person interviews, and multi-mode studies.
How do I submit a request for a proposal?
Go to contact us and submit your request. Or, you can email your specifications to
info@fgiresearch.com and a sales representative will get back to you.
Are FGI and Yankelovich the same company?
No. FGI and Yankelovich are sister companies. We work together closely on a number of different research applications, and can each help provide access to the products and services of the other company, but we are separate entities.
Can I program and host my own online survey and have you send invitations to it?
Absolutely.
Will you work with other research companies as well as end user clients?
Certainly. Many research companies do not have data collection or online capabilities, or have other project needs they cannot fulfill in-house. Partnering with other research companies is something we've always done.
Where do your panelists come from?
FGI uses a best practice method for panel development that involves acquiring panelists from as many sources as possible. Our SmartPanelists go through a double opt-in process when signing up to ensure that we only contact people who have agreed to be contacted.
What if my online study has an international component?
No problem. We have access to panelists across the world and can fulfill most international requests, including study programming and hosting, questionnaire and open-end translation, and data collection and delivery.
How often is information about your panelists updated?
In addition to regular updates initiated by FGI to collect updated information about things like marital status, work status, number of children in the household, etc, our panelists have real time login access to a gateway that allows them to update their own information whenever it changes.
How do I join your SmartPanel to take surveys?
You need to go to our panelist website at http://www.fgiresearch.com/smartpanel. Take our short profile survey and respond to the verification email that you will receive after completing the survey. You will automatically start getting surveys from us!
